The Uruguay Innovation Hub program aims to promote projects in the field of science, technology, and innovation that enable the country to advance towards a knowledge-based economy and society. It seeks to become a world-class innovation center that attracts international investments, increases the country's potential economic growth rate, and generates quality employment opportunities for its residents.
As part of the Uruguay Innovation Hub initiative, we support the launch of an acceleration program in Uruguay focused on early-stage innovative startups. This program will enable these startups to grow through methodologies, mentoring, networking, and financing.
Who can apply?
Organizations or consortia that meet, among other criteria, the following requirements:
1. An executive team with prior experience in managing startup acceleration processes.
2. A proven methodology and access to a strong network of mentors.
3. National and international networking capabilities.
4. Demonstrable success stories.
5. Legal entity in Uruguay at the time of contract formalization.
6. An executive team present in Uruguay at the start of the project, with the possibility of hiring locally.
7. Representatives from the central organization during the acceleration phases.
8. A revenue model that ensures financial sustainability after the program's funding ends.
9. The capacity to invest in selected startups after their participation in the acceleration program, with prior experience in such investments.
10. A proposal demonstrating significant impact on the national entrepreneurial ecosystem.
What are the benefits received?
- An annual non-refundable operational support of up to USD 300,000 for three years, with the organization contributing at least 40% of the total project cost.
- Office space for the project's duration.
- The opportunity to co-invest with UIH (Uruguay Innovation Hub) in selected startups after their participation in the acceleration program, providing financial contributions from the organization's own funds or third-party contributions to the selected organization.
This call operates on a competitive basis. The application deadline is November 20th at 2:00 PM.
